We provide professional digital imaging services to the university community and to the public. We specialize in working with old materials such as albums and delicate original negatives and prints and with large items such as maps and original artwork.

We can image items up to 40" by 60" in a single pass, and can scan film formats from 35mm up to 8x10 and panorama. Our large format photo printers can make prints up to 24" wide by almost any length (the longest print to date is 25 feet long). Our large-format plotter can produce professional posters and other large prints up to 54" wide by many feet long.

Running a labful of some of the best equipment in the state requires an exceptional staff. Our staff and students are highly trained and will ensure that you get the best product possible.

We also run the Alaska History Store, providing reprints of many of our most popular photographs and maps. These reprints may be purchased directly from us as long as they are not for commercial or public use. Twice yearly we also conduct public sales events: in July during Golden Days, and in December. We have several online image galleries that are the result of many scanning projects and contain over 30,000 historical photos, several hundred rare maps, and other books and documents. Please take a look around and enjoy a peek at Alaska history through some great collections. Many of these images have also been added to Alaska's Digital Archives.
